On the eve of spring semester, feeling a little queasy (about everything) and a little hopeful (about returning to campus and a new semester with students). I distracted myself by finishing up my “learn to sew silk jersey” project.

For years after moving to Southern California, I felt like I didn’t really understand it. Leave it to David Lynch to articulate what I most love about it now.

I can’t believe David Lynch is gone. It’s no exaggeration to say his work is an enormous part of why I’m doing what I’m doing today. What a huge loss.
