J'avoue que je n'y croyais plus, les éleveurs nous avaient prévenu que l'incubation chez les varans est particulièrement longue : environ 100 jours, un peu moins quand on chauffe plus (mais on augmente les risques de malformations !). Les deux petits sont vaillants et plutôt peu farouches 🥹

Après 121 jours à chauffer une boîte en polystyrène un peu humide en espérant que quelque chose s'y passe, nous sommes fiers de vous annoncer que Eizo et Joanna, les Varanus acanthurus, sont les parents de 2 minuscules bébés depuis vendredi dernier ! 🥳

First time I'm trying to draw a ricinuleid🤞 Fun fact, these little arachnids were first found as fossils and only after living species were discovered in Africa, so they kinda are the coelacanths of the arachnids !
