In hindsight, I definitely should have held off on releasing the Transfusion soundtrack on streaming until AFTER the game was fully completed. Now I have two releases that really should have just been one. Knowledge for next time I guess.

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties. The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized. Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

If there wasn't enough of a reason to drop Spotify already, they're upping the price AGAIN in February to make it $20 a month or something. Literally any other method of listening to music is better than using them at that point.

I've been using an iPod Classic the last few months of this year and it's been so much better than using my phone. I've been building my music library, discovering new favorites, and just feel more connected to my music because it's MINE.
