I felt this on every level. It motivates all of my works when making games/mods for games. The reason I started is because I thought it was cool. I still think what I do is cool. Everything that keeps me up til 4 am working on it even if its tedious or not really rewarding. It's so cool though :)

it annoys me how people think a game has to be constantly brought up to have any legacy or staying power... also, most of the time people need time to mature their thoughts on something and it takes years to put it in perspective. usually staying power of any media shows up only years after.

I honestly think twitter has poisoned people's brains in terms of how games are perceived because I've seen multiple instances of people talking themselves into the idea some of the best games ever made are bad because it's not in the "conversation". Some people only care about perpetual hype

I saw people arguing that Metaphor didn't have any staying power (as if a game needs constant discussion to have an impact) and my opinion is that the game was just SO solid that there wasn't much else to say. It accomplished what it needed to and the few issues I had were small comparatively.

Seems like Yakuza Kiwami 3 is all but officially confirmed, but honestly I don’t even think the game needs that much updating? I played it earlier this year and thought it held up fine. I played on normal and really didn’t run into the “Blockuza” experience people always seemed to complain about.

The funniest thing about all the hate Fire Emblem gets because of Smash is that as a fan of both, I don’t even think it has that good representation in the grand scheme of things.
