Grad student Drake Philip developed a simple and tractable model for inducing HSV reactivation in mice - we are excited to use this system to study immune responses controlling recurrent HSV disease and to gain new insights into HSV neurobiology. We hope this will be a useful advance for the field!

on the other site, a month or two ago, I asked you about a way to block HSV-1 egress without interfering with the earlier parts of infection. @beatesodeiklab.bsky.social got me on the right track to track down this mutant, with a temperature sensitive protease (tsProt.A). I love this community!
