This post isn't entirely wrong, but the whole narrative it started where Nintendo consoles / games had only a small imprint on game history or cultural relevance has annoyed me 100x more than any cringey Nintendotuber has inconvenienced a European.

It's funny that people still think this post holds any water because, even if sales numbers signified cultural influence, you can still tell which of the two games was more beloved by looking at the sales of their sequels. Banjo-Tooie sold about 1.5 million units. Croc 2 sold half a million on PSX.

shout out to the spriters resource for being one of the few sites to do a complete redesign in 2025 that makes it better to use instead of worse. being able to zoom in on sprite sheets and even flip and rotate them and enable a pixel grid without having to download them is extremely useful

I actually had to explain to someone recently that the AI that tells enemies in video games how to react to player inputs is NOT genAI and has existed for literal decades. they genuinely had no idea there was a difference. this shit has poisoned the well so bad.
