I had a memory today. I was 4, and awake in hospital after eye surgery. My eyes were bandaged shut. My arms were tied to bed. I was terrified. BREAKING: Federal judge rejects a challenge to the use of race in Naval Academy admissions policies. The lawsuit was brought by the group that successfully sued to end race-conscious admissions policies in colleges. In that opinion, SCOTUS noted that it was not ruling regarding service academies.

Listening to oral argument, I am struck by Kavanaugh’s stupidity. No, the Constitution doesn’t come with rule book saying what are correct outcomes. It requires Court to protect groups from discrimination. He wants to abdicate that role. Sort of like Senate abdicating its role to advise and consent.
