A wheelchair is an extension of a person's body, so a flat tire is a huge deal and can trap people who use wheelchairs in their apartments or even beds. Sometimes for weeks or more at a time! The extra family hot goss is that my great great grandmother sent back a photo of the family with him cut out of it because they had four kids already, and she was hopping mad he'd enlisted. As an embroiderer with a temper I like to think I embody a bit of both of them :P.
