"Dora" tells us that harvesting season is her favorite season as she gets to watch the early a.m. sunrise. It's also much cooler to work as they harvest the grapes at night when it's cold so the sugar levels are at its peak and the grape isn’t soft due to the heat.

“Ale" works in the carrot harvest in CA. She earns $3.05 for every box of carrots she packs. One box has 24 bunches of 7 carrots each. To earn $100 she has to pack 34 boxes or 816 bunches which represents over 5000 carrots picked in a day.

The tomato season is going full blast in quick start CA's Central Valley. Work starts at 5am which means many workers get up at 3am to drive one hour to the site. The early start time is to beat the heat as 100°+ temps are common. It's not easy but it pays their rent.
