The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember: - Organized a city wide general strike - Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence - Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE - Flipped public opinion against ICE

Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days. His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

And this is meant to shut everybody up. Guess what? Not happening. The people they’ve killed are still dead. The people they’ve maimed are still injured. The people they’ve kidnapped are still missing and unlawfully detained. If anything, get louder.

We had a derecho in Nashville in 2020. Power was out at my house for 6 days. But it was May. I could easily relocate to a place with power. But with an ice storm? You can’t go anywhere without facing a whole new set of risks. All this to say winter is THE WORST and I hate every minute of it.

I tend to think Alex Pretti was murdered in cold blood by ICE, but admittedly I don't have much evidence, only multiple videos of the shooting from multiple angles that all draw the same definitive conclusion. Yeah I know, not much to go on.

Anyone who doesn't believe ICE should be abolished should absolutely be shunned & never listened to again.

Memory is a fragile thing in this moment, so it is important to keep in mind that Hakeem Jeffries refused to whip his caucus against ICE funding earlier this week.
