- then I take time to strip it down and find what elements combine to create the main elements - duplicate this out to about 32 bars and then start chopping elements out/bringing elements in at different parts - general rule is something should change every 4 to 8 bars to keep the listener engaged

My process for creating original songs from scratch 🧵: - Lay drums ptrn down - create a simple chord progression, melody or bassline that can hook the listener (2 to 4 bars, no need to overthink it) - I keep building and adding elements on that 2 to 4 bar piece until it becomes too hectic sounding
