Got to spend time with the neighbors’ new hounds this evening and they’re such good dogs. Honestly, there’s only been 2 dogs I’ve met that weren’t good dogs: a hound that hated my cat and would slam himself against the screen door and a chow who lunged and bit my stomach. Everyone else: good dogs.

Today, I signed an Executive Order temporarily repealing bedtimes in the City of New York so that kids of all ages can watch our team in the NBA Finals. As Mayor, you’re forced to make many difficult decisions. This was not one of them. Go Knicks.

Getting projects done while I have time: project the second. It’s a bodge job because I discovered I needed stronger stakes, but here’s propping the roses up.

Banal bit of the day: tried the Aldi key lime pie bites this evening. The center is very good but the dark chocolate is a little too thick and kills the key lime taste. Were it my choice, I’d do a white chocolate key lime-infused coating instead.

Took the majority of yesterday off just to chill and reset my brain. Today, it’s job applications and time to start working on/finishing little projects.

Got some Dunkin’s this morning for the household, then did the first of the little house projects on my nigh-unto-infinite list: cleaning out the litter box cubicle and swapping the plastic litter boxes for stainless steel ones. Put in a new larger litter mat as well.

Did quite a bit today: was joined by @madwriter.bsky.social and Loralee for a Waynesboro art street fair and the WQSV Spring Chicken Salad-Off.

So, my job and I parted ways yesterday. It was a good run, but I’m feeling a little in limbo. On Tuesday, I’ll start the application grindstone with my brand as “organized basement goblin”, but until then I think this weekend is for relaxing. 🙂
