I'm completely capable of dealing with good art from a shitty person. Loads of great artists were shitty, complicated people. Of course they were! They were *people*! But they also didn't wield the power of a billionaire.

As luck would have it, I remembered that it was the Art Bus here in Edmonton today, so I was able to take transit over to the art galleries downtown--and shoot a roll and a half in the process! Over 16k steps today, and I'm tired. Some interesting art, though.

Medical tech has just jumped so fast in the past few years. Really exciting to see, and I think that's in large part a result of the COVID-19 funding boost.

Every time I see a claim about how an LLM is doing something, I ask how, because an LLM is pretty straightforward tech. And every time, it turns out they're just repainting a 2D image or mimicking text again. It's a two-trick pony.
