OK, now that 2025 is done and wrapped I can finally crunch some reflections on my year. Looks like I ended with around 7,680 photos for the year. About 4,000 of those were on film.

I love the characteristic cold marketing cynicism with which Kodak only included a film reminder disc for the films it made at the time on the Medalist II. Maybe one day I'll learn enough machining and engraving to make a more useful replacement disc.

Yesterday got me wanting to get the Medalist II loaded back up. Going with Delta 3200, since the negative is big enough to mitigate the grain.

LRT: it took me a long time to realize that 'fake it until you make it' really does just work. There is no effective difference between who you present yourself as and who you are. You can become whatever you want by just pretending it's who you are for long enough.

Yearly reminder that you CAN just become a different person, you're not as imprisoned in your life as you think. You can just be the one who dresses nice or exercises or reads a lot, or whatever. You can just start doing it, some people might make fun of you but they don't really care.

2025: made mistakes, made hard choices that weren't mistakes, caused a lot of hurt (some justified, some not), carrying a lot of hurt (some justified, some not). Still somehow keep getting back up off the mat. Still committed to the work of learning to be a better person.
