Again for the centrists defending them as good female candidates defend now "bipartisan" Amy Kobluchar and Elissa Slotkin? Or Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly and Jon Ossoff? Hypocrites.

Dear Santa, Please send the Democrats a better standard bearer in 2028 than Gavin Newsom, preferably someone who hasn’t already lost a presidential campaign. And please also send the party the guts to back this standard bearer. Also I would like a new pair of running shoes. Thanks, Will

The EU and other US allies have seemingly all forgot about us dragging them into a war based on lies and then murdering a million Iraqis. You think this is the worst thing the US has ever done? You will forget all about this, long before you pass away.

Seriously, what what the fuck is happening with the Democrats? They don't even pretend to give a shit anymore, and yet so many people still stick up for them as "our only hope." They really don't see how Democrats are helping to destroy America.

I don’t know who the Democrats are going to choose to run for president in 2028, but I really hope it’s not Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom. We need someone more progressive, more sincere and more electable. Honestly I don’t even think this person is in the public eye yet but I hope they emerge soon.

When Harris was VP, the party had just enough votes to raise the minimum wage. The parliamentarian, a person Harris had full authority to just plain fire and replace, said Harris shouldn't do it that way. So Harris did nothing and the minimum wage remained unchanged. She just plain doesn't care.

MTG may not succeed. But to laugh or scorn her without a counter strategy would be foolish. We cannot cede the gains we are making from the Left. Reactionary centrism is a failed tactic -- failing globally multiple times since it emerged as a approach to counter extreme right wing gains. (5/6)

If she succeeds, MTG will revitalize malevolent nationalism by becoming in essence a rebooted DJT once he exits the stage or this world. Given America's deep history of misogyny, I believe the only woman the US will vote into office as a first female president, will be a conservative like her. (6/6)

There is a reason Mamdani had his portrait taken before FDR. Traditional Democrats will fail a second time if they do not heed the lesson from the past 20 years. The US needs a left-anchored popular movement or it will succumb to fascism again. We can do this if we embrace the obvious path. (4/6)

that whole 'this country isn't ready for a woman president' line is really upsetting because it shows exactly how neoliberalism works, redirecting blame from issues of policy (or lack thereof) onto a flattened, vague type of sexism in a way that ultimately doesn't even challenge sexism!

If the Republicans really wanted to reopen the government, they could do it without the Democrats. The Democrats need to make the Republicans own this shutdown and all the suffering it is causing and they won't do that by capitulating with nothing to show for it.

Thesis: The people across the US repudiated the Trump agenda. Antithesis: But the people even after four years of Trump failed to turn out for Harris and she lost the general election. Synthesis: The Biden admin and Harris campaign failed to offer a meaningful alternative to Trump's agenda.

Joe Biden ran on Bernie’s agenda in 2020 to get progressive votes. And it worked. Then establishment dems quashed most of that agenda. And VP Harris paid the price. Record turnout in NYC because young voters once again have someone to vote for.
