The best tip (imo) for illustrated books: never repeat what's in the text in the image. Always add something to the narrative in the image. Think of the art and words as two widgets in a machine with slightly different jobs that work together to make the machine work.

Avoiding AI in creative endeavors is about preserving the human communication between the artist and audience that happens through what we make. Let’s not alienate those in our community with purity tests around AI and instead get clearer about why connection between humans is sacred in our arts.

That feeling when a story in the submission pile won't let you go, and you have to hold off on reading the rest of the stories that are queued up for your review. Not untill the spell fades and you can give the rest of them the proper attention they deserve.
