I’ve said in the past, my favorite part of the Cypher TTRPG is how easy it is to run with little to no prep. My second favorite part is just how weird some of the content is.

I finally had a couple of hours to paint Jobie from #Moonstone. His special move is "play dead." He also has an ability called "cunning plan" that lets him put down a moonstone he's carrying and then die (the Mortician can bring him back). He's hilarious.

How do people feel about GM screens for RPGs? I will use one for reference tables and for hiding miniatures, but many games don’t really need one these days. Do you roll in the open or secretly so you can bend things to your narrative needs without revealing your thumb on the scales?

We did the first special mission (3) from @snarlingbadgers.bsky.social's Majestic 13 today. Two of my Roughnecks were wiped out by a barrage of four thrown grenades. It was my fault for moving them so close. Luckily one recovered after, and the clone of the other one seems okay... mostly.

Years ago, I had this player who deliberately made the lowest intelligence character he could. It was hilarious, but I genuinely felt bad for the character and eventually as GM I contrived a way to make him a little less stupid. I used some kind of symbiote creature to do it if memory serves.

Game Master Tip of the Week: set your game day and time in stone and never reschedule. Run games on the same day and time and recruit sure players that can build their schedules around the game, not the other way around. Moving a game around kills it more often than not. #rpgs #GMing
