Plan 75 is even more beautiful and upsetting the second time around with Baisho Chieko as amazing as ever and Isomura Hayato in a role that is the polar opposite of WDYEY’s Gilbert. #AmWatching

Author is using 面々 so much in this volume after never using it before, which leads me to believe they only just learned the word and are pleased with how smart they think it makes them sound. #AmTranslating

I've found this to be true for the translation industry too. Making friends and supporting each other (building a network of amazing people) can open potential doors, but it takes years to build up those relationships. Fellow translators aren't competition, they're colleagues and friends.

Finally made it over to the new @popotame.bsky.social, and the space is amazing! So much light, gallery bigger than their old space. The current exhibit is one of my faves, Nakada Ikumi! I wish people let her do more manga. She's really good at capturing little moments, my fave kind of story.

French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations. All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin

The fact that SixTones is pronounced "stones" outrages me in the same way as random readings shoehorned onto kanji, like the student I once had whose kanji was 月 but her name was Luna. No. You're not allowed to do this, Japanese. Stop doing this.

I love the expression 聞く耳を持たない (lit. does not have listening ears). I always picture someone switching out their regular ears for their other ears, the ones that refuse to hear a word out of anyone’s mouth. #AmTranslating
