I reviewed Stop! Hibari-kun for AV Club! @peow.bsky.social’s release of the 1st volume is worth seeking out - here’s why:

In SF3d Chronicles, there's a lot of really images passed through CRT tv:s, and this was done almost 40 years ago! It's kinda funny how prevalent analog/crt vfx filters are in the 2020s. like 1/3rd of all sci-fi video game trailers nowadays.

I received my issue of " A garden of spheres" by @decassette.bsky.social And it is absolutely gorgeous 🤩 And also, the editor @peow.bsky.social says : "If you want to show off what a beautiful book you got and post a few pictures online, that's ok."

I spent a delightful afternoon with A Garden of Spheres yesterday. It is a beautiful book and the color pages are stunning. The story odd, sparse, and scattered. I ate it up. Lots of cool dragons too. Look I'm easy.

treated myself to world heist and garden of spheres by linnea sterte. everything is just so yummy and amazing to look at, i still think she is rly my favorite comics artist ever (i already thought that after garden of rot and a frog in fall but she just keeps getting BETTER somehow)

So excited to finally have my copy of @decassette.bsky.social ‘s Garden of Spheres! (Pub’d by @peow.bsky.social ) One of the most beautiful comics I’ve read this year, and I’m especially taken with the mastery of shading and tone, the thoughtful balance of areas of light and dark! Wow.

Forgive me a bit of schmaltz on a Tuesday, but I just want to thank @decassette.bsky.social for creating such lovely comics and @peow.bsky.social for presenting them so beautifully. As an indie comics shop in Ireland it can be really difficult to drum up business. Linnea’s books make it easy.

I think it technically came out in December of last year, but World Heist by Linnea Sterte was one of my favorite books this year! (I also think my fantasy comic Hero of Legend is pretty cool. But obviously I'm biased!)

Finished reading @decassette.bsky.social A Garden of Spheres last night, what a ride. Very much recommended. And my 4th physical book of her work, after World Heist, Stages of Rot and A Frog in the Fall, which are all also recommended/gorgeous books.
