Yasushi Nirasawa - one of the GOATs of monster design! So many of his monsters are cool head-to-toe, but he could also turn silly ideas, like this watermelon monster, into solid gold with inventive thematic design and asymmetry. Even common decorations like skulls could feel new in his hands.

Excited for this launch party in a few weeks!

March 26 we are doing a launch party for Ex.Mag Vol 6 at Desert Island, as the public regular version will be available then! @wrenmcdonald.bsky.social and @chaset1000.bsky.social will be there signing tooo The image below has the same information as what we wrote in the post.

In a couple weeks we will have Nick Borelli / aka Mold Mold Mold in NYC for a peow2 event at Desert Island on March 26, and then at MoCCA March 28-29! This will be your chance to see some of the miniatures IRL. He made a special display that we will have that weekend!

A lot of people ask us "when is vol 2 coming out?" So we are listening to the fans for 1 time. Stop!! Hibari-kun! Vol 2 by Hisashi Eguchi will be out in July 2026. Vol 3 will be out in the winter. So by the end of the year the collection will be complete! For now, you can look at the cover.

I think @peow.bsky.social is on to something here: More books should come with their own stowage pouch. This is especially handy for readers like me who've run out of bookshelf space but still have plenty of hooks around the house where they can hang things.

Even the box the book and bundle came in was fabulously designed. So maybe it shouldn't be surprising that @peow.bsky.social originally started as a cardboard mailer company and the award-winning comics were just a byproduct of needing something to ship in these amazing containers.

I reviewed Stop! Hibari-kun for AV Club! @peow.bsky.social’s release of the 1st volume is worth seeking out - here’s why:

In SF3d Chronicles, there's a lot of really images passed through CRT tv:s, and this was done almost 40 years ago! It's kinda funny how prevalent analog/crt vfx filters are in the 2020s. like 1/3rd of all sci-fi video game trailers nowadays.

I received my issue of " A garden of spheres" by @decassette.bsky.social And it is absolutely gorgeous 🤩 And also, the editor @peow.bsky.social says : "If you want to show off what a beautiful book you got and post a few pictures online, that's ok."
