I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired. It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. đ§”

With Google removing their Responsible AI Principles, they no longer state that they will *not* engage in "Technologies whose purpose contravenes widely accepted principles of international law and human rights". Concerns about surveillance and injury are also erased.

While weâre all thinking about Denmark and USA: hereâs a fact little known except by global health nerds. For a while life expectancy in Denmark was as poor as USA. Investigations showed excess deaths, related to lifestyle, of people in 40s and 50s. Public health measures led to improvements.

We'd all be better off if in addition to Darwin we were also taught Kropotkin. Darwin talked a lot about evolutionary pressures selecting for certain traits. Kropokin talked about how animals acting cooperatively allowed for survival.
