at that stage I really wanted to study consciousness. After learning more neuroscience I realised that was too nebulous for me, so I 'dropped down a level' to human neuroimaging, then dropped down again to neural circuits, then single neurons, before finally settling on synapses and ion channels 😅

anyone come across this statistical issue before? I have simulated some time series data and am computing crosscorrelograms between two variables. "one year" of smith data recovers ground truth crosscorrelogram (right) but "one month" of sim data (left) gives artifactual negative correlations 🤷‍♂️
