"The player makes up what happens" is the strongest most powerful thing that ttrpg can do. It's also wildly unpopular and most modern game mechanics are designed to produce that result while obscufating it from the players.

M.A.C. Attack is the raddest skirmish game. Ever wanted to play Battletech but then looked at the rulebook and noped out? This is the big moments of Battletech without all the simulation crunch. Way faster, way more kinetic, easy to run. Same results less work.

If anyone has a source of information about the cryptographers that tried and failed to crack the Voynich Manuscript, I'm interested in the actual stories about that. Not ancient aliens and theories, just the real stories about folks taking a run at it.

It pretty much sucks that we live in an age of misinformation. Trying to look up stuff about any real world mysteries just leads you to straight to text to voice shorts and ai slop and pseudoscience.

I love Chronomutants, but my biggest design regret is that though it is simple to play, the rulebook is insanely long. Happy to report that the player rules for game 2 fit on 6 pages, and I reckon the GM rules will fit on 7 more. #TTRPG
