Just hit me that literally the only mythical where there's zero way to get it in present day is Zarude. Technically there's no way of getting Victini officially in the main series either, but there's at least the DNS exploit, and its research in Go isn't time-gated. But Zarude has nothing.

It is done. Two months of playing, five games, three regions. I have successfully assembled a complete generation 3 living dex from scratch. What an incredible journey. A feat I dreamed of as a starry-eyed kid playing Emerald for the first time and wanting to experience every bit of it.

Watching Absol's Pokepark Kanto video and learning that the Japanese term for shiny is "irochigai" - meaning "differently colored" - made me think about how it's kinda weird our term focuses on the sparkles rather than the color, when the color is the thing that people really care about.

Obviously Lance is the most iconic Dragon-type specialist in Pokemon history, but in terms of design, Drake easily clears him imo. Not sure how controversial of a take that is.

Doing a SR hunt for a Switch game on a Switch 2 isn't full odds because the Switch 2's faster load times give you an unfair advantage. That's basically like using speed-up on an emulator. You did 10k encounters for Arceus on a Switch 2? Get fucked, method hunter.

Just had the worst battle of all time with Wattson His Magneton was 1 or 2-shotting the rest of my team with Shock Wave, so I switched in Nincada. The only thing he could damage Nincada with was Sonicboom. So I spammed Sand Attack and healed when needed until Sonicboom's PP was depleted. (1/2)

IVs automatically being set to max with no way to change it in Champions is... interesting. On one hand, it means you don't have to worry about trying to get 0 Attack IVs to counter Foul Play or 0 Speed IVs for Trick Room. On the other hand, they also could have just let you freely set IV values.

Oh so Salt Cure got nerfed so this strategy would be cooked even if Alomomola was in the game 😔

I've really only ever built two competitive teams, one for SwSh and one for SV. And it turns out that only 3/6 Pokemon from my SV team and *one* of my SwSh team are compatible with Champions.

So it turns out I literally forgot to put my shiny Gimmighoul and Gholdengo in my living dex because I completely missed that these sprites were shiny...
