I went to the Minnesota State Fair today with the lab. Finally, I see what all the fuss was about! A fun summer afternoon indeed (and lots of fried food)!

Any advice for lab meeting formats for a new lab (i.e. 4 people, 8 months in)? I feel like weekly data presentation meetings are a bit too much for right now, but then don't know what else to do other than journal clubs. I already have individual meetings with my people.

One day, people sending me emails (especially sales reps) will realize that Jain is my last name, not my first name. Even after I correct them... so many "Dear Jain" emails 🫠

In lighter news: my FPLC was just installed! I’ve been fascinated and obsessed with FPLCs since college and to have one of my own feels like a very surreal, but also grounding thing. Weirdly one of those “pinch me” moments as a new PI.
