UPDATE: Senate Republicans made Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill even worse. Now, this bill rips health care coverage away from 17 MILLION people—that’s an additional 1 MILLION people. Health care cuts now total over $1 TRILLION.

ONCE AGAIN in the dark of night—Republicans are trying to jam their Big Abomination of a Bill through Congress. This is what’s going on tonight after they jammed a motion to proceed through the Senate in a 51-49 vote. Obviously, I’ll be a very hell NO on this bill. ⬇️

CBO cost estimate of the Senate GOP bill is out! But this is the version where they pretend $3.76 trillion of tax cuts are actually free. When you account for that CBO estimates that their bill will increase deficits by $3.3 trillion over the decade, much more expensive than the House.

Our public lands are NOT FOR SALE! Last night, news broke that the current Senate language won’t fly in reconciliation. But, this fight is not over yet! They are likely to try again and the Trump Admin just announced it will open 58 million acres of our national forests to logging and development.

This is great news, but I'm not breathing a sigh of relief just yet. Republicans will no doubt try to sneak a new provision in that clears this procedural hurdle. But this is a sign of what's possible with public pressure, so if you care about your public lands, keep it up.

This is not normal. A sitting president refusing to call the governor of a state after two elected officials were shot, one fatally, is beyond words. A typical president, regardless of politics, would pick up the phone. Offer condolences.
