Spending this Christmas Eve Eve watching my personal favourite and. I believe, greatest Christmas film ever written by Richard Curtis: Bernard and the Genie. Featuring original songs by Howard Goodall that dont deserve such obscurity. Accept no modern remakes!

My ears spent the christmas shopping banged up with a good podcast. Criminally good all round but in a show all about Porridge the biggest laugh (in a very crowded shopping centre) came from an absolutely miniscule Fry and Laurie reference. Not in the least bit naff!

So for the last season of my podcast all my guests were warm leads. I was on friendly terms with all of them. Approaching guests is definitely a weakness for me and ahead of the next season I would love any and all advice on contacting strangers directly and especially dealing with agents.

In amongst my Father's things I found quite a few pieces of writing (a few short stories, some jokes, the first four chapters of a novel) which he never did anything with or even let anyone read. I'm currently in the process of typing up his cursive manuscripts and it's sad how good they are.

Got cast in an audio drama. The role sounded fun, the samples read well and the audition went great. I'm more than halfway through the script when it becomes abundantly clear that the character is a First Nations man which was absolutely not flagged up at any stage. Never dropped a project so fast.

Very lucky to perform some Jane Austen for her 250th birthday. It's the only way anyone was every going to cast me as Mr Darcy. I read Captain Wentworth's letter from Persuasion and I distinctly saw tears in the audience.

I personally like quite a lot of Back and Forth though I agree that "Sniff my skids" is puerile. I adore the Shakespeare scene, it always makes me laugh, but I think Blackadder was a bit unfair about Branagh's Hamlet (The only masterpiece to see Ken Dodd out acted by a skull in the same role).

Video podcasts exist solely as a marketing tool. A celebrity must be visible, they must have their face 'out there'. It must be cut up and turned into digestible (disposable) bites that must have captions because it won't be watched with sound anyway.

When all you want to do is make audio how do you find an audience when algorithms are almost entirely gained towards video and especially faces?

Just because you are unable to imagine how someone else’s mind works does not mean that person’s mind does not work like that
