Good shows have *one* and only one mood, all the time. Wth do you mean you want drama too, who does that?!’

There's another factor to formulaic sitcom writing: it really only matters when it stays consistently funny, and Viv's admitted to not being much of a "comedy" writer. So instead of trying to pigeonhole herself into an "animated comedy" niche, Viv plays into her own strengths and what she likes.
