Hello, Iām Tamsin. Iāve brought a bottle, some fairy lights and a hula hoop. Hoping thereās still a friendly person on the door, some tasty nibbles, interesting conversations, a few laughs and at least a couple of cats.

One of the most common arguments you hear from fans of generative āAIā is that itās not plagiarizing peopleās work, itās just learning like a human learns. So Iām going to break down why thatās just not true, and why it can never be true, with the existing systems. 1/

I think it is right for me to mention that I have a YouTube channel, where I put episodes of a (silly) weekly series and this year shall be putting all manner of other stuff. Iāve wrestled with it, and I do think itās right. So there we are.

Afternoon thought, exploring representation of character on my Creative Writing MA. The
#BechdelTest
sets 3 criteria for a text (film, book, play) that: i) involves at least two women ii) who talk to each other iii) about something besides a man. Not judging, just can't think... Mind blank. Anyone?

This moment in Bluesky is a great example of how joy itself can be defiance and resistance. We are just hanging out, shitposting, being silly, happy, and normal. It is being treated as if it is transgressive, opting out of the endless negativity. Because in a way, it is. Joy is my favorite weapon.
