Deadline to publish summary statements for NIH grants has been extended from 30 days to 2/26 due to the shut down (=60 d). If you are waiting for reviews to resubmit again in Cycle 1 you might be out off luck, review might come few days before or even after the deadline.

Just got an email from my SRO for the study section that was missed in October. Good news is that they are trying to reschedule ASAP (Dec/Jan). The bad news is that CSR is mandating that only the the top third (not half) of applications will get discussed for the next 2 rounds.

Preliminary data from

It's real easy to make assumptions. I was a controller at ZTL (Atlanta Center) for 25 years and I can't tell you them implications of every detail. But I can point you towards the data the FAA releases. (More in the remarks)

As a food bank volunteer , some tips on how to be most helpful during this challenging time (personal views only): 1) If you can, avoid calling or emailing. Food banks are overwhelmed and are often staffed by volunteers. Most have websites with FAQs. 2) Prioritize $ donations when feasible.

If you’re in a university community, regardless of whether the government is shutdown, consider supporting your university pantry, if they have one. Money is helpful, but also consider foods that are from a wide range of cultures/countries for international students.

Ironically, I’m celebrating my 14th cancerversary today - the day my bone tumor was cut out of my knee. And I prob wouldnt be here without leucovorin. Osteosarcoma patients depend on this drug for the best outcomes. The inevitable shortages will terrorize patients and even endanger their lives.

Oncology nurse here. Leucovorin is a drug critical to safe administration of life-saving cancer treatment (colon cancer, lymphoma, leukemia, toname a few). We've experienced very severe shortages in the past. Please, just no.
