This morning, on account of the rain, we whet to the Lofotr Viking Museum. It was great! Not the best picture of me, but it was fun to try on Viking helmets! In the 80’s a farmer found artifacts and the excavation found the longest Viking longhouse! So much great stuff! A real Viking on the right.

Drove to the end of the road at Eggum and then hiked to this cool art! “Head” by Markus Raetz, is a sculpture that changes depending what angle you view it at. Apologies with the shaky video, trying not to trip over boulders or step in sheep poo, which was very abundant!

This is our Rorbuer in Ure, near Leknes, Lofoten. Rorbuer are fishermen huts, usually on piles so right over the water. Everyone should visit Lofoten, it is spectacular! We are in the end unit in the building oriented towards the camera. Look at the mountains behind us! Wow! Weather is good now!

After our climb up Reinebringen, we drove to the end of the road, Å. Small town with the big name! We stayed at a hostel there back in 19 “cough”90”cough”. Looks like it got upscale a bit. Seems like high end accommodation.

Apparently we are going to hike up this. Wish us luck. Supposed to be great!

Was some nice displays in the Bergen Natural history museum. Thought it was a good, visual, easy to understand display on the rocks from the Caledonian orogeny and then the “collapse “ and the accumulation of sediments.

The was at the Bergen Museum. Looks similar to some of the stuff the White House posts. This was actually posted in Norway by the Nazis in WWII to encourage the “right” babies being born.

Just back from doing some wetish fieldwork east of Trondheim at Nesjøen, in eastern Norway. Got dropped off by the boat in the rain. Always sucks to set up tents in the rain, but it really sucks when you are missing a key piece of your cooking shelter.

In Trondheim visting good friend Eiliv Larsen. Just got reviews back from a paper recently submitted from fieldwork we did in "cough" 1992 "cough". Looking over photos from that time, not sure I would do this again! But I am wearing a hard hat! That helps right?
