My favorite blueberry bush this season is this spicy bluecrop that took residence in the rows of jersey bushes and is absolutely thriving. I love coming across her every time I go picking.

Came across them in broad daylight & decided that I ought to stand guard to ward off the fascinated jays and crows. Normally I’m not an absolute sucker for every snail I meet— but it’s Pride month and I can’t help but want to protect love in all its diversity.

Just over the rise, there’s a small stone bench beneath the feral apple tree. It’s a peaceful place & you are very welcome to rest there with me.

Some are naturally flamboyant and they make all our lives more colorful and lovely.

I like to imagine that I’ve just caught this “tree” in the midst of a swim & it’s frozen in place to fool me into thinking it’s a common botanical being and not some sort of nixie. 😉

It’s a quiet place, where the frogs are singing and you can rest for a while.
