Same here - invested decades to become a high impact autism researcher and encouraged my husband’s career change into pediatric cancer biology… whoops.

Both the hubs & my work depend on gov't funding & will run out at the end of May. Neither of us are optimistic that our agencies will renew the previously allotted $$ under this admin. Never would I have thought that NASA engineer & NIH-funded physician-researcher would be bad career choices. Sigh.

Also, I really need people to stop saying the “best“ scientists are the ones who will be able to move. The ones who will be able to move are the ones with the least responsibilities outside of their science. Guess who those people always are? Hint: it’s not gonna be the married women.
