Harvested my first truly ripe Pippins Golden Honey pepper and my first green Cubanelle. Pippin's fully ripe is outstanding! I like green Cubanelle too, it will make a worthy green bell pepper substitute. Cant wait to try ripe! Also look at -all- the eggplant I have.

I got my next batch of seeds! Besides the tomato varieties, I have mostly kept things very limited. I got a high heat cucumber substitute, some ground cherry relatives, high heat lavender, and then potatoes and parsnips for fall. See ALTs for names.

Just a semi-update with life. Work continues to be crazy and is now expected to be until the end of September at least. So I am basically going to be taking things day by day to keep from getting overwhelmed and no major home projects.

I thought I posted last night. Made my last pot of sauce of the season with my tomatoes. Extra virgin olive oil, dry wine, garlic, basil, salt and pepper. And then topped with peppered Genoa salami and merlot infused Bellavitano cheese. You know its good when I post it the day afterwards!

I just made this pasta salad for a potluck at the community garden tonight.🥗🌱

I can't believe I am about to begin fall planting season already. I am wrapping up my tomato crop next weekend and my peppers and eggplants are still growing, and it'll be time to seed everything again in a week or two. I just need to figure out how much planting to do.

Not much of a beet harvest, but better than my radishes this year. At least I got something.

I know its not much a looker, but made some nice greens using the tropical greens that grow here. Its thai basil, moringa, longevity spinach, and Okinawa spinach (neither are related to spinach). I made a sauce of salt, pepper, garlic powder, ginger, butter, soy sauce, and ume plum vinegar.

Harvested my first sweet cherry pepper! It did need another couple days to ripen but a bug found it so I had to eat it. It tasted like... a bell pepper lol. I was expecting it to have a je ne sais quoi quality to it, but no. Tastes like a red bell pepper.

My day job is at a rural branch of a public library, and we have a Pride display. Yesterday I was at the desk when a man came in. Fifties, maybe, or sixties. Plaid shirt, mesh trucker cap, suspenders. He went up to the display and just stood there for a long moment. Then he came up to the desk. 🧵 1/

My Pip's Golden Honey peppers have ripened! Look at that nice yellow and purple variagation to it. Here's the ticker. I was expecting these to be pretty spicy... they are not! There is the slightest heat to them but its mostly just a nice tasting sweetish pepper. I love these!

Made a caprese salad for dinner. Not usually my thing because store bought tomatoes are bland... but now that I have tomatoes 🍅

I just made the best breakfast sandwich ever. Bacon, egg, provolone, fresh tomato, sauteed eggplant, basil, and balsamic vinegar. Every step seasoned with salt and pepper. Been totally sleeping on the sauteed eggplant! Its incredible.

Starting to get a bunch of tomatoes now including my Cherokee purples. Some still need to ripen but they are all past the breaker stage. (When tomatoes start to change color they have about all the nutrients and flavor they will develop. If left to ripen on vine they can be eaten by pests or split)

I tried my first cherry tomatoes that I grew myself. Absolutely delicious. I dont know if its the variety (Black Cherry) or if its my soil but these were some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes I have ever had, at least to my recollection.
