Very pleased with the feedback from our first beta build; it's been extremely positive and we've almost got all the bugs ironed out and little mistakes fixed. All 3 readers have described the writing/setting as warm/cozy/charming, which makes us quite happy. 💕

There was also an additional reason I wanted to switch to a branded handle, which is a real hashtag furry problem. For the longest time, Colson was a personal OC, who represented me as a furry avatar. However, he's been his own unique character for a while and no longer personally represents me.

You might notice that I updated the handle on my Bluesky to @sweetleaves.art (website forthcoming shortly at that domain). Since I don't really post a lot of personal stuff anymore, I thought it best to make the switch as the VN launches. TanukiDad is still here and running the account, though!

I grew up with both my parents being high school teachers and then my dad being a principal. I based the characters' occupations on that (write what you know?). It was fun to take the JRPG school formula and reverse it, so that you're experiencing the story from the faculty's perspective. #FurryVN

Welp, assets are as finalized as I can get them for episode 1. There will of course be an inevitable tweak or fix for a file here or there, but otherwise, big big milestone. I also finished yarn script editing for alpha 3, so it's nearly time for beta.

The released novel won't be this large, but my working directory of files for episode is 42 GB. We have a lot of video. 😅

One of the things I'm happiest about is that our approach to presentation is evoking the feel we were going for very well, which is intended to be a cinematic and directed experience. It's coming together nicely! We're very excited. #FVN

Getting to share alpha build 2 with other team members has been a real treat. There's still lots of things to improve and fix, but even in an early state there are heart-fluttery moments seeing things come to life, after being in production for so long.

Btw, as the Itchio noise and all died down, Adult games are technically just banned now. Some adult games are still being sold, yes, but if you get caught or reported or whatever, all your payment options will be yanked and only a husk remains. Zero comments from Itchio on this, nothing, at all.
