A few years ago I made a series of mini drawings of interesting Irish women (available as a print here www.ciaraioch.com/artprints/p/...) - this thread is a little information on the women featured, partly because it's useful, but mostly because I'm trying to be sustainable by recycling content.

The difference in my own behaviour in this new app is that I used to tweet my every waking thought (“oh look! The leaves in the trees have all migrated south, like birds that forgot how to fly”). Now, I say it out loud in Spanish to a little child. Much to the amusement of the passerby.

My son went through a phase where he would wake up very early and stand like this at the door of our bedroom until we woke up and noticed him. We called him “The Morning Phantom.” Startling. Terrifying. I miss it. #parenting

I just learned that Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. An alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform (and yes it's really easy to transfer your lists from Goodreads to StoryGraph). You know, while we're moving things.

The introduction of 'starter-pack's on @Bluesky are really useful, I've set one up for Illustrators UK (in publishing), however a little glitchy - I'm finding accounts I've definitely added to the list being mysteriously unlinked, though it's still well under the limit of entries. Curious!!
