Just been listening to an outstanding address on 'Britain in a Changing World' by Sir John Major at the LSE. I never rated him as a prime minister but like Gordon Brown he has become far more impressive out of office rather than in it. His views on the wretchedness of populism were superbly drawn

I remember being told that it would take 193 years to reach legal limits for nitrogen dioxide. I decided this was unacceptable. Thanks to the bold policies we put in place, we've managed to do it in nine years - 184 years earlier than expected.

Citizen Smith - Only Fools and Horses (27th September 1979). Confining your regular characters within an enclosed space is a good sitcom ploy (even better if there's a decent guest star like Wilfrid Brambell added to the mix). And that episode title might be useful later on ....
