I love being downtown. Don't get me wrong, I hate leaving my house, but once I'm here, it's great. I chatted with the pizza window guy and a random stranger about the weather and then a skateboarder asked for directions as he rolled by. Live in a city! People are nice, actually!

I showed this graph in class yesterday on how measles cases in the United States plummeted dramatically after the vaccine was licensed in 1963. Itās not subtle and I could not resist observing: āThis stunning design in measles cases was not thanks to vitamin A. It was not due to beef tallow.ā

Spring is Ultramarathon documentary season & there's a lifetime's worth of work for a therapist who sets up at an aid station in the middle of one of these races. It feels like ultra runners would rather ruin their knees & kidneys than go to therapy, so I think therapy's gonna have to come to them.

Spring break is over and my kid is back in school, which means we don't get to have lunch together. Sad news! Is lunch with a 14 year old often just sitting at the table with him while he watches endless short-form videos? Yes. But at least I get to see his face!

My kid has a stomach bug and it's just the worst thing as a parent to see your kid miserable, in pain, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. I love him so much; I wish I could set everything right! He's such a trooper and he'll be fine, but god, stomach bugs suck!

Just saw an ad for moisture wicking underwear, which seems like a good idea. "Wicks the moisture away!" the ad says. "To where?" I ask, but the ad doesn't say. It's gotta go somewhere and it's not evaporating under a layer of jeans, so is it actually moisture transporting (to your pants) underwear?
