My table of mostly 5e players is now two months in to OSE, and they've adapted remarkably well. They really overcame their fears about the simpler, leaner approach that OSE takes even though they've always favored the Calvinball approach to 5e. They're even thinking ahead to strongholds!

Seems to me that OSE has unfairly become maligned by OSR fans for taking a retroclone+ approach. Swords & Wizardry seems to still be an OSR darling, yet it is very much OD&D+. I'll miss the box sets, too, but it's easier to put everything under one roof than divide the products up.
