can confirm. in january, i attempted to mug BT outside the national czech & slovak museum. before i had even raised my pistol, he'd already managed to ruin my new slacks/blouse. he then went on to reccomend me a local dry cleaner, which i suppose was a failed attempt at levity in a tense situation

Red wing blackbird males getting into scuffles in the river birches. Red shouldered hawks getting frisky and freaking out all over the wetland. Stickseeds and burs all stuck to my hair. That's right folks! The weekend

Bur oaks (Quercus macrocarpa), in Illinois where I lived as a kid, on sand dunes in northwestern Minnesota, near our house in Madison, and in the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. A small selection from a large collection of bur oak portraits.

Can I admit something terrible. I think Autumn Olive is straightforwardly one of the most beautiful plants I've ever had the good luck to see and taste. I hate hate HATE that I have to cut down so much of it for work.

After all that high wind the thermoclines last night were crazy. Especially when I biked past the small cooling towers of the power plant on the way to ice cream, the pockets of cold damp air there were the most intense I've felt.
