Least Adder's-tongue on the patch last month. Only grows in a small 2m square of turf on Guernsey. I didn't know exactly where this was before a passing botanist pointed me in the right direction. At about 2cm tall, no wonder I hadn't noticed them before.

Maidenhair Fern Adiantum capillus -veneris at its well-known site in Bath, curtaining one end of a canal tunnel, but now spreading to the outside wall at the other end and even to the wall of a nearby railway cutting. #FernFriday #FridayFerns #ahashtagwithFernsinit

Something a bit warmer for this #FernFriday. Sticheropsis truncata, an upland fern from Indonesia. The fronds appear to fork, but actually extend continuously, with a hidden bud in the fork allowing the plant to spread out seeking light in forest gaps. #BritshFernSociety #BPS #RBGE
