1661 Bunhill Fields Meeting House; a crucial site for early Quakers. Part of Bunhill Fields Nonconformist burial ground with over 12,000 Quaker burials, including founder George Fox. Meeting house destroyed in World War II, meetings continue today in the caretaker's house; now in council estate.

Shouldn't @rspb.bsky.social being calling for an end to game bird shooting not licensing it. The Protecting of Birds bit of the RSPB title has never included birds shot for sport. The RSPB's position on game bird shoting is illogical, unethical and is incomprehsible to most on the general public.

I'm starting to see resistance iconography based on the Mockingbird series designs, with state birds. Minnesota's was the first with the common loon. Now Oregon and Washington state have joined the chat with our Western Meadowlark and American Goldfinch. Watching dystopian films has prepared us.

Bazzania trilobata on sandrock, Lake Wood, Uckfield, on the south boundary of High Weald AONB. The Weald has a disjunct population of this Atlantic Woodland liverwort. This is my first sighting of it here. Also at Eridge & Chiddingly Woods SSSIs in Weald. Might be its most south-easterly occurance

This large patch of Thelotrema (Bark Barnaclesl lichen) on quite an old Quercus robur tested yellow to potassium hydroxide (K). T. lepadinum is typically K- and T. leuckingii is typically K+red. Barely a walk goes by on the South Downs, Sussex, when I don't see a Teloschistes chrysophthalmus, Golden-eye Lichen on a Hawthorn. Previously considered extinct in the UK. I don't think it was ever extinct; de facto extant but at such a low level of abundance that it was undetectable #lichenGBI
