In my humble opinion, Lancer is to mech games what Dungeons and Dragons is to fantasy games. I mean this in the most complementy complement ways. Taking all the pros and cons from each system and watching how they've persisted/evolved in subsequent systems.

We have a playtest game coming up tomorrow and another of the players printed out their pilot deck. which i think is sick - makes the game go faster, it's easier to interpret and who doesn't like channeling their fav card game protag in the midst of play???🎴🎴🎴

their actual mechs are teensy tiny compared to the other mechs in the setting because they're old as shit and not really designed to do much more than "stand in place and mine rocks" of course, things are changing. (also they're two seaters; in that you have your buddy's head between your legs)

SHEEEEEEEEEEEET, I can Google Sheets...sometimes. Version 1 of the character sheet's auto deck list, MB and loadout exporter thingy is up. Players wanted to share their builds with others but it was a lil time consuming to hand list everything, now you can just cpy paste ur build!

A Reddit player joined a playtest super hyped for the card-based pilot concept, but mid-game, they realized it’s more tactical RPG than card game. It caught them off guard... and honestly, made me think about our rules for elevation, LoS and the trappings of tactics games.
