I obtained Flock license-plate reader audit logs that show police conducted 117 immigration-related searches of local data from Jan to March. One dept's reason to search: "Obstructing Justice – Suspicious female filming traffic stop & making comments about ICE”

Is there a way to change an app icon on Android? For instance, can I change the Libby icon to the Bluesky icon so that when I try to instinctively doomscroll, I am tricked into opening a book instead?

I'm about 1/4th of the way through Cameron Reed's What We are Seeking and it has an 80s/90s feel that I like. The deep study of alien biology makes me think of Xenogenesis or The Steerswoman.

I don't have the kind of job where we usually get free lunches, so I always show up for the yearly event where we get a free Potbelly sandwich. My favorite part is that staff from all around campus come on their unique departmental carts so it turns into an alternative vehicle showcase.

Austin has been building more combined bike lanes and sidewalks, and I don't expect pedestrians to have to keep track of when the sidewalk becomes a traffic lane suddenly.

This morning, in the predawn black, the jays on one corner were in a ruckus. They weren't flying away like they were chasing a hawk; only making a lot of noise within the tree. The only creature I saw moving was a bat. Maybe there was a fox in the tree?

The latest trivial Austin drama is that the alt-weekly has a new crossword writer and people are big mad! I didn't do them previously because I only like crosswords that are in the perfect sweet spot of difficulty and they were pretty easy. Now I'm doing them just to see what's "wrong."
