Seeing how almost no community members/creators got previews for Lorwyn, how hard and early Marvel is getting pushed, and how UB is making up the majority of next year's releases, it's hard to not feel kind of exhausted about Magic right now.

When we were seeing marvel spoilers a bit ago, somehow my brain just assumed it was the set after Lorwyn despite *knowing* this wasnt the case. The 4TH SET of next year? HUH!?!?

Its so funny to me seeing WOTC quote "Sales" as the indicator for audience reception, when everywhere you look (comments sections, twitter, bluesky, etc) all anyone who plays the game talks about is the poor state its in.

WOTC printed 6,254 cards in paper Magic in 2024 (via Scryfall year=2024) The mental equivalent of seeing 17 new cards per day, every day. If you add in unqiue printings, it jumps to almost 31 cards a day.

I know that it happened *in* the show, and that it references the card "quench", but does anyone else roll their eyes when a card is adapted purely for "meme value"? I felt the same way seeing the train fight in FF's "Suplex". "Haha exdee we put spongebob doing the meme on a magic card!"
