I'm not sure if I'm ahead of or behind the curve on this thought, but... there's quite a few parallels between city gentrification and app enshittification. Just, the "IDs or no Internet" situation feels very similar to "my family has lived here for generations but now I can't afford rent".

Thinking about Superbowl ads... so many of these things felt like, "If you need to advertise, you're doing it wrong". Like, who DOESN'T know about ChatGPT/Google AI/Alexa at this point? Who doesn't have a strong opinion about AI already? Why spend so much money unnecessarily...?

I forget sometimes, having a social media account means I should like... post stuff, and not chicken out of it. Oops.

October Rising Day 19: Book A sequel to last week's art- one of the library regulars is in no way about to accidentally make trouble. This is fine. Everything's fine. (They're gonna probably need to make Kenneth's desk bigger)

October Rising Day 18: Twisted One of the things I've always loved about Spiral dragons' lore is that an upset one will tie themself into a knot. Sky here probably has a pretty big predicament since she's got three knots going!

October Rising 17: Warrior Seaheart's charge was keeping the clan safe; he's now grappling with a world in which he was not, in fact, able to stop multiple tragedies from occurring. (the other dragons shown are named, clockwise from top, Summer, Leap, and Cardea)

October Rising days 14, 15, and 16 Playing ketchup so, in order- Nicholas the Imperial is a schoolteacher, Tannenbaum the Nocturne is a tinkerer/toymaker, and Quincy the Coatl is a herbalist. Hoping to have another trio to post tomorrow!

October Rising Day 13- Tiny Kenneth here is one of my clan's librarians... he's doing his best.

Day 12: Burrow Edward is always very happy to make a new animal friend! The bunny has... other thoughts on the matter. Which is fair, FR Nocturnes do biologically have to eat bugs/meat, but Edward has ethics about that kinda thing. No eating friends allowed!

October Rising Day 11: Spell I like to think Virtue is a teacher you don't like having in class, but then later you find out she all but threw hands with the school board on your and the other students' behalf. It's a good dichotomy. (Also, I have plenty of spellcasters, but this's more fun to draw)

October Rising Day 10: Hatchling Gregory loves his daughter Peanut very much... but they've both been turned into statues for a while, now (heh, I'll do some lore ramblings on here at some point but now is not that time).

October Rising Day 9: Thread There were a few ways to go with this one, but I picked one of my tailors, Zenith. She normally does patching-up kinds of things, but here she's made something for herself... well, for her chinchilla, who may or may not appreciate it, ha! #frfanart

October Rising Day 8: Monster My dragon Hestia faces down a Fear Frog! Properly, she should have her buddy Rosewing with her too, but y'know, composition 'n stuff. I really love how this one came out- the shading was real fun! #frfanart

Tarragon here is banned from the community kitchens for good reason; their sense for what makes a good recipe is... not to everyone's taste.

A bit of an aside... I don't appreciate how AI has made it so I have to post-process my art before posting nowadays. I miss being able to just like, yeet my stuffs on Discord as soon as the last brush stroke was down. At least the four-hour time cost means I double-check things a little bit better.

Jasper is a kindly old dragon, and as Snapper dragons are nomadic, she's been lots of places and has lots of stories! The smaller dragon isn't anyone in particular, I just happened to get some Nocturnes in my last batch of hatchlings and they're pretty fun to draw.

This character limit takes some getting used to. Anyways, Echo was supposed to be my story's big-bad, but then I was looking at her stats and it turns out she's got the "always hatchling size" bug so she's a smol-bad instead. This is how my lair's first two Gaolers joined; they were summoned!

What I got done on the 4th vs. the end drawing that I'm actually somewhat happy with. Elliot here's a prosthetician, and he loves his kitty very much. This sketchbook style takes like... an eighth of the time for me to render as the full smooth lines/shading version, so is good for catching up.

October Rising Day 3: Treasure It's hard going shopping when you're small, especially when the shopkeepers aren't! Shroud here is lucky in that he was just asked to get a hat, not a breed change scroll- those go for five *hundred* thousand treasure! Poor lil guy would have to do even more counting.

October Rising Day 2: Portal Merlin has heard of the concept of self-preservation. He'll give it some thought at some point. Definitely after he checks out the pretty swirly thing, though! Nevermind that he's probably getting too old for this. #frfanart

October Rising Day 1: Mimic My dragon Prismacolor, being made of paint, can mimic anything she likes. She prefers Wildclaw form, but nobody is on their A game directly after waking up, ha!
