My first ever full time developer job was working in the DNS domain. It’s the backbone of the internet so it is both an unbelievable footgun and incredibly resilient to change. Yes, both can be true at once!

Annual reminder that titles are wildly inconsistent across the industry. I’m currently a Senior software engineer. 4 years before this role I was a Staff software engineer. Last year I was offered a Senior Principal role at a different company. The rules are made up and the points don’t matter.
