🍽️ Mushroom and kale lasagna, from Six Season, by Joshua McFadden and Martha Holmburg. Went the extra mile with homemade noodles. Really lovely dish, but I think there's room in its flavor landscape for something a little more. Will have to be creative next time. 🍽️

I just spent the last couple hours with the demo for Cairn, a climbing simulation game, and I'm quite charmed with it. It nails one hand or foot at at time methodical pace of climbing, and I often think of how I would move my body on a set of moves only to see the same motions executed on screen.

Everyone should be sharing this story about the Amnesty International report because yes many of us have long acknowledged that it’s a genocide but there are still people who need the validation of a report from an org like Amnesty to believe it’s true

🍽️ Lemongrass coconut tofu curry and rice. My dad's favorite meal I make, which is high praise from a Midwestern meat and potatoes guy. Originally based on a recipe from Milk Street's Tuesday Nights, although I've tweaked the heck out of it over the years. 🍽️

Ghalieh mahi and chelo ba tahdig. Turned out quite tasty, although I turned down some of the spicy and sour to appeal to my mom's palate. Next time there will be more tamarind and hotter peppers. I'm also 100% sold on the nonstick pan tahdig method. 🍽️

Pasta carbonara with spinach salad and some rather hastily made garlic bread. The main dish was lovely - will absolutely make it again in the future. The bread was a little slow to rise, and ended up being dense and chewy. Probably what I get for using the last scoop of yeast in the bottle. 🍽️

All dog owners say things to their dog that sound completely deranged out of context. My love language to my dogs is to speculate about the cuteness standards that each of them satisfies, the various laws and regulations that apply, and the certifications their cuteness has earned in their career.

When you have two dogs, it's important to hold on to peanut butter jars when you're done with them. Once I have two empty ones, I give one to each pup and they take them to the opposite ends of the house so they don't have to share.
