I left the reylo fandom in 2020 at the same time I took a major step back from the fandom as a whole to repair my relationship with the sequel trilogy and rediscover my love for it after the backlash against tros burned me out so badly (🧵)

Fandom was created by women. The only reason it even exists for shitty dudes to gatekeep is because women built it.

I think Billboards, and planes and charity funding - crowd sourced or other wise is great. What it does is builds community - the story, the fandom is important. Don’t ever let anyone tell you - you are wrong for caring. 💜

Rewatching the Acolyte pilot as a palette cleanser before bed and, my god, this show looks so good. So Star Wars-y. Color, composition, and fights where you can feel the weight and the danger of a near-miss with a blade. It’s got that grime to it.

the forbes article about how "willow" was (relatively) cheap makes me think another point going on here is lucasfilm spending years as the d+ show production company, then when they had an internal film they wanted to make, the suits didn't allow it. rule of "one for them, one for me" broken.

For about two years I've been frustrated with how Poe has been treated by expanded stuff but at this point I'm like. Was there really ever any hope when Ben and Rey equally aren't getting any spotlight? Much less Finn and Rose...it's the pits

The news about the Ben Solo script actually makes me even angrier about The Acolyte (and Willow) cancellation because it means that Disney/a couple of suits don't trust Lucasfilm to tell the stories that originated with Lucas/the brand they acquired. And that is... Whew.

Between Willow and The Acolyte and The Hunt for Ben Solo and Resistance, we really need a #savelucasfilm banner 😭
