My sense is that the NYC jazz clubs are all going to stay open tonight but maybe close tomorrow. Nasheet Waits and I will be there at Birdland Theater tonight, 7 and 9:30. However, I told Buster Williams to stay off the roads (he drives in from New Jersey). Simón Willson will fill in.

Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step. 1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish. 2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.

This killer is coming from Criterion in April--a hugely influential, visually extraordinary 1967 LA noir. For those who've read Pictures at a Revolution: I originally had a much longer (wisely abandoned) concept that would have included this film. I'm so happy to have done a video for this release!
