The school where I work hosts a casino night and the kids bid on prizes with their “winnings.” Four friends, only one of whom had ever played an RPG before, won the Upwind one-shot I offered, and we finally got to play today. Apparently it blew their minds and they are already begging for a sequel.

Played our third session of The King’s Dilemma. Still sussing out the narrative nuances of the mechanics, but really enjoying it so far.

Just heard some good advice… “You are the average of your friends. Choose wisely…”

As a GM - Blue Planet. Hands down the most engrossing sci-fi ttrpg in my collection. Though as a player @countthalim.bsky.social 's Dune has been the most fun. Mostly due to the Count and his love of the setting.

Mostly avoid a shelf-of-shame with a rule that new games go to the top of the play queue. A notable exception’s been Inhuman Conditions - waiting for the perfect venue? Finally got over that and played it tonight. Internalizing the rules took a beat, but …1/2

I know for important environmental reasons I should embrace PDFs, but I love the heft of a good RPG book. The promise of fun and adventure seems so much more tangible in their physical forms. Anyway, post your RPG shelfie, and let’s see what cool tastes we share…

One of my best friends is running us through his iteration of Nights Black Agents’ The Dracula Dossier. As a player aid, he had the annotated, in-universe version of Dracula printed and custom bound, then added copies of all the handouts in all the strategic places. He is a GMing legend…

Stumbled onto an affordable copy of Heavy Hitters. The game play is simple and fun if a bit old school, and the production values are off the charts.

My students have had a couple more sessions of their WHFRP game. They’ve picked up the mechanics quickly and are starting to engage the roleplaying. They wanted a story with “exploration” and “rebellion” and the big secret about the big baddy is about to drop.

My students were excited to learn how to play Unmatched this weekend and couldn’t get enough. Even choosing it over their usual and constant video game playing.

Finally got to resume our AT-43 Operation: Frostbite campaign with a huge 4000 point battle. It’s possible that we are two of the last people in the gaming-verse who still play this underrated title. The big points and the tight scenario layout are making it mech fight in a phone booth!
